Kewell agent hits out at treatment
2/2/2010
Footballer Harry Kewell's agent Bernie Mandic has said that his client suffered more from injuries during his time at Liverpool than he should have done because of poor medical treatment while at the club.Mandic told the Sydney Morning Herald: ''He lost three-and-a-half years of his career at Liverpool because the guys over there in England had, quite literally, no idea what they were talking about."
Australian winger Kewell, who now plays for Turkish side Galatasaray, has been largely injury free since ending his spell at Anfield but is currently in Australia having a groin injury assessed.
Mandic said Kewell had returned home for the checks because the country has the "best medical staff in the world" and went on to suggest there are "logical" reasons for Liverpool players such as Fernando Torres suffering soft tissue injuries.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has contacted Kewell to find out how he overcame his problems.
Those who are suffering from a groin strain may find that ultrasound treatment aids their recovery from the injury.
During his time at Liverpool, Kewell made 139 appearances, scoring 16 times.
